Shape the character of your image with five dedicated cinematic tools for controlling highlights, shadows, tone, and color. Shape & Tone brings Highlight Rolloff, Shadow Control, Duotone, Chromatic Aberration, and Color Wash & BW into a streamlined DCTL workflow, giving you direct control over each effect without having to build complicated combinations of separate nodes.
In the support videos, you’ll see practical grading examples showing how each tool changes the image, where it can be used in a node tree, and how to control the effect to fit the footage rather than simply applying a fixed preset. The examples demonstrate how these tools can be used for subtle image shaping as well as more distinctive creative treatments.
Because the controls are built into the DCTL, you can make the adjustment directly in the node and continue refining it as your grade develops. RAW variations are also included for RAW workflows, giving you the same creative control when working with RAW footage.
HOW TO INSTALL
Download the DCTL file and place it in the DCTL folder used by DaVinci Resolve. On Mac, you can find it at /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT/. On Windows, use C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\LUT. After copying the file, open DaVinci Resolve and go to Project Settings → Color Management → Open LUT Folder to verify the location, then refresh the LUTs. Your DCTL will then be available in the DCTL menu on the Color page.
