Five creative cinematic effects designed to recreate and enhance the character of real lenses and optical effects directly inside DaVinci Resolve: Bloom, Highlight Mist, Light Leak, Creative Blur, and Anamorphic Streak.
In the support videos, you’ll see how each effect works in real footage and how to control its intensity, character, and interaction with the image. Instead of relying on a fixed preset or stacking multiple plugins and nodes, each effect is contained in a dedicated DCTL with its controls available directly in the node.
The videos also demonstrate practical ways to combine these effects with your existing grade and use them selectively to create atmosphere, soften highlights, introduce optical character, add movement and texture, or create a more cinematic lens response. RAW variations are included for workflows where the footage requires them.
HOW TO INSTALL
Download the DCTL file and place it in the DCTL folder used by DaVinci Resolve. On Mac, you can find it at /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT/. On Windows, use C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\LUT. After copying the file, open DaVinci Resolve and go to Project Settings → Color Management → Open LUT Folder to verify the location, then refresh the LUTs. Your DCTL will then be available in the DCTL menu on the Color page.
